                          Volunteer Rifle Corps

Military historian R.H. Montague noted that Sloan and Wilkinson both joined the N.S.W. Volunteer force in 1860, as well as stating that the uniform depicted is that of the Maitland Company of the N.S.W. Volunteer Rifles. [1]
